Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, PA is a multi-specialty medical group. It is comprised of internal medicine physicians who specialize in the comprehensive long-term and routine care of adult patients (internists), and other internal medicine physicians who have received additional intensive training regarding a specific body system and its related diseases (sub-specialists). Our internists and sub-specialists have joined together to provide patients with an integrated, efficient and effective system of care.

Airman Medical

As a Designated Senior AME (Airman Medical Examiner) we can provide FAA-approved medical certification exams for both student and certified pilots. We specialize in “difficult” cases such as those requiring Special Issuance.

DMV Physicals

In 2014 the DOT now requires DOT medical exams to be performed by Designated physicians specially trained to perform them (similar to AME). Any person carrying a CDL requiring a medical exam can have that exam performed here.

Family Practice

RDC is proud to begin offering family medicine to help treat illnesses in individuals under our previous minimum age of 18 years old. Our family practice physicians will treat illnesses related to general internal medicine.

Gastroenterology

Gastroenterologists are Internists who have received additional training to treat diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and liver. Such conditions include colon polyps and cancer, hepatitis, gastroesophageal reflux, peptic ulcer disease, colitis, gallbladder and biliary tract disease, irritable bowel syndrome, and pancreatitis.

Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, PA Endoscopy Suite has achieved accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC). Accreditation distinguishes this office based endoscopy from many other outpatient facilities by providing the highest quality of care to its patients as determined by an independent, external process of evaluation.

Status as an accredited organization means Rowan Diagnostic Clinic, PA Endoscopy has met nationally recognized standards for the provision of quality health care set by AAAHC.

“We believe our patients deserve the best,” stated Kiran Jagarlamudi, MD. “When you see our certificate of accreditation, you will know that AAAHC, an independent, not-for-profit organization, has closely examined our facility and procedures. It means we as an organization care enough about our patients to strive for the highest level of care possible.”

Ambulatory health care organizations seeking accreditation by AAAHC undergo an extensive self-assessment and on-site survey by AAAHC expert surveyors – physicians, nurses, and administrators who are actively involved in ambulatory health care. The survey is consultative and educational, presenting best practices to help an organization improve its care and services.

High Altitude Testing

We have developed a program for testing individuals at risk for altitude sickness (airman, climbers, vacations, skiers, etc). We can test, in the safety of the office, patients up to an altitude of 25,000 feet MSL. By not using a pressure chamber the testing is faster and more comfortable.

Hospital Medicine

Hospitalists are those physicians whose primary focus is providing in-patient care services. This service is provided for patients with no stated primary care provider that require admission to the hospital and for support of those providers in the community who no longer admit patients to the hospital.

IMPACT

The IMPACT (Internal Medicine Pre-Anesthesia Care and Treatment) Unit was developed to provide a concise, focused evaluation for patients undergoing anesthesia. It is designed to efficiently work up patients to identify risk for complications with procedures and identify ways to reduce perioperative risk.

Internal Medicine

Internists are the backbone of RDC. They are physicians who specialize in the diagnosis and non-surgical treatment of adults, usually providing long-term comprehensive care in managing common and complex diseases. Internists have a detailed understanding of each patient’s unique medical history and are extremely valuable in coordinating and managing treatment when other specialists are involved in a patient’s care. RDC internists are highly regarded in the medical community and are frequently asked to consult on extremely complex and perplexing cases. They maintain admission privileges at Rowan Regional Medical Center and are available 24/7 to provide personal care for their patients requiring admission.

Pulmonology and Critical Care

Pulmonologists are internists who are specially trained to diagnose and treat pulmonary (lung) diseases and conditions such as asthma, bronchitis, COPD, cystic fibrosis, pleural effusion, lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, sarcoidosis, sinusitis, and tuberculosis. RDC’s pulmonologist is also board-certified in critical care, which involves even greater specialty training and certification. Critical Care physicians provide care for patients with acute, life-threatening illness or injury. Examples of critical illnesses include ARDS, heart attack, poisoning, pneumonia, surgical complications, and stroke. The majority of care provided by critical care physicians occurs in a hospital’s critical care/intensive care unit. Our Pulmonologist serves both as Rowan Regional Medical Center’s, Respiratory Care and Critical Care director. He is available for office and hospital consultation through a physician referral.

Rheumatology

Rheumatologists are internists who have received additional training to treat arthritis, and other diseases of the bones, joints, and muscles. Some of these diseases include rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lupus, osteoporosis, and tendonitis. Our physician’s search deep to discover the cause of a patient’s pain and swelling and then formulates an individualized treatment plan. A consultation with an RDC rheumatologist requires a physician referral.
